Sarah O’Brien is a Dental Claims Expert, self-proclaimed Dental Billing Nerd, and the CEO of Evolution Remote Dental Billing. With more than 20 years in the dental industry, Sarah has worked her way from chairside assistant to front office leader to dental claims specialist, gaining a 360-degree understanding of how dental practices truly operate.

In 2017, Sarah was sought out to help a newly graduated dentist who had just purchased a practice overwhelmed with aging claims, chaotic accounts, and an undertrained front office team. What began as a single rescue mission quickly became something much bigger. Sarah recognized a widespread problem: practices weren’t struggling because they lacked effort — they lacked structured, repeatable insurance revenue cycle systems.

That realization led to the creation of Evolution Remote Dental Billing.

Since then, Sarah and her team have partnered with dental practices across the United States to transform billing departments from reactive and overwhelmed to organized, strategic, and profitable. From reducing high accounts receivable and cleaning up complex claim backlogs to implementing strong statement protocols and training teams to become confident, capable billing leaders, Sarah has helped dozens of offices reclaim both revenue and peace of mind.

As a proud member of the leadership team for many of the practices she serves, Sarah believes billing is not just administrative work — it is a core driver of practice growth.

Now, she is leading the next evolution: integrating AI into dental billing systems. Sarah sees artificial intelligence not as a replacement for skilled billers, but as a powerful partner — one that can reinforce strong protocols, identify bottlenecks, flag common errors, and help practices operate smarter within proven billing frameworks.

At heart, she’s still the same Dental Billing Geek who loves the routine, the challenge, and the satisfaction of a clean claim and a well-organized aging report. But today, her mission is bigger: to bring clarity, structure, and innovation to dental revenue cycle management nationwide.
